Twin Falls man found dead west of Hailey

The Blaine County Sheriff’s Office has released information about the death of a Twin Falls man killed in an ATV accident several days ago. Patrol deputies were called to the scene of an overturned all-terrain vehicle near Richardson Summit in Croy Canyon, west of Hailey last Saturday. The 911 call reported a dead person underneath an ATV along with GPS coordinates of the accident. Deputies identified the man as 78-year-old Edwin L. McVey. He was found underneath an overturned 2015 Suzuki ATV. Deputies determined McVey had been dead for several days. Investigation indicated McVey was driving down a two-track road and slipped into a deep rut, causing the ATV to overturn. He suffered blunt force trauma to his head and upper torso. McVey was alone and was not wearing a helmet. The body was recovered by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, Blaine County Search and Rescue, and the Blaine County Coroner.
