Truck and trailer hits three I-15 overpasses

A truck and trailer carrying an excavator caused some significant damage at around 2:10 p.m. Monday to the concrete overpasses at mileposts 75, 86 and 88 in the northbound lane of Interstate 15 near Fort Hall.

Idaho State Police said the load 35-year-old Gregory Hamman of Blackfoot was carrying on his 2208 Kenworth semi was too high to travel under the bridges.

No one was hurt, but several other vehicles were damaged by concrete debris that either fell from the bridges or was on the road.

The right northbound lane of Interstate 15 was blocked for approximately 20 minutes while the debris was cleaned up.

The right lane continues to be closed between mileposts 86-88 while the Idaho Transportation Department conducts maintenance on the affected bridges.

ISP said the driver does face some commercial vehicle citations.
