One injured, one in custody for shooting incident

Idaho State Police are investigating a shooting incident in Malad City.

The shooting was reported at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at a private residence.

Lieutenant Clint Skinner said one man, identified as Lancer Whittaker, was injured and taken to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello for treatment. Whittaker was listed in stable condition Tuesday.

Jay Ostrom, 38, was arrested on charges of attempted murder. He is being held at the Caribou County jail in Soda Springs.

Oneida County asked ISP to investigate the case because it had necessary resources.
