Heart attack survivor bikes across the country

After a heart attack, most people sit back and take it easy. Not this survivor.

Bob Quick is riding across the country stopping at fire stations as he goes.

He’s made it his mission to travel the country and thank firefighters, EMTs and police officers.

Quick said he feels like he wouldn’t be alive today if first responders hadn’t been there the day he had his heart attack.

Along the way, firefighters sign Quick’s bike, and he said the biggest rewards are the hugs and the friends he makes along his journey.

“If it wasn’t for our firefighters I wouldn’t be alive,” said Quick. “They never give up, and I can’t give up on them. I’ve got free time, let’s go thank the fire fighters across America, so that’s what I do.”

Quick was just at Bingham Memorial Hospital yesterday, July 13, getting two more stints placed in his heart. That makes 18 plus a pacemaker.

Quick is riding with a cardiologist along side of him.
