Pickup hits parked UPS truck in Idaho Falls

Idaho Falls police report a UPS truck was legally parked at 3200 Boulevard to deliver a package at around 11:05 a.m. Thursday when the driver was just getting back into the truck and was clipped by a Dodge 4-Wheel Drive pickup driven by an 18-year-old man.

The pickup glanced off the UPS truck then struck a pine tree.

Officials said the UPS driver was not seriously hurt, and the 18-year-old driver was hospitalized for observation.

Police said citations are pending, and drugs or alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
