Police: Student in custody after threatening others with box knife

An Idaho State University student is in custody after police said he threatened others with a box knife.

According to police, on Sunday, Saud Khalid Almudaiheem approached someone who was loading food into their car at the Jackson Food store off of South 5th in Pocatello. Almudaiheem got inside the victims car and showed the person his knife. He then made the person drop him off at an apartment complex and told the victim to not call the police.

Almudaiheem was then spotted later that day at the Chevron gas station off of 5th street, threatening others with a knife. Police were able to arrest Almudaiheem and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of second degree kidnapping.

Idaho State University released this message in response to the incident.

“Saud Khalid Almudaiheem has been trespassed from Idaho State University to include all properties owned or controlled by the university. According to records maintained by the Bannock County Sheriff’s Department, Mr. Almudaiheem was recently arrested and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Kidnapping.”
