Pocatello police pursue suspect, end up in front of Vickers

UPDATE: 7/24/17

Pocatello Police arrested Robert Nathan Dean, 43, on charges of eluding an officer and driving under the influence. According to police, officers located a vehicle that had been reported several times as a reckless driver at around 4:19 p.m. Friday. The man drove away from police but struck another vehicle at the intersection of Oak and Yellowstone. Although his vehicle was severely damaged, police said Dean continued to drive it until he reached the 1500 block of Yellowstone where he was taken into custody without further incident.

UPDATE 7/21/17 7:15 p.m.: Pocatello police said it received multiple calls about a reckless driver. Police attempted to stop the driver and he continued driving.

The pursuit started near the intersection of Gould and Yellowstone. Police said the pursuit headed south for a brief amount of time and then turned back north. Police said at one point, the driver was involved in a crash and still continued driving.

Police were finally able to stop him at Vickers Western Store.

The man was taken into custody, but police have not yet released his name.

ORIGINAL STORY: Pocatello Police were at Vickers Western Store on Yellowstone Road in Pocatello around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Reporter Misty Inglet reports there were six police cars on scene, a dented up car and police were arresting a man.

As of 5 p.m., police officers were searching/inspecting the car.

According to police, officers were in pursuit of a male suspect, and Vickers is where they were able to stop him.
