12-year-old boy held on felony charges

A 12-year-old Rexburg boy is being held at the 5C Juvenile Detention Facility following a Rexburg Police investigation Monday night. Captain Randy Lewis said police were called to a home on reports the boy had struck his mother at an earlier date. Investigators then determined the boy may have been sexually touching a younger male family member. The boy was charged with misdemeanor battery and felony lewd conduct with a minor child under the age of 16. The case has now been referred to the Madison County Prosecutor for further investigation.
