Fire directly behind Mountain View Cemetery contained
A fire burned less than a quarter acre directly behind Mountain View Cemetery on S. 5th Ave in Pocatello Tuesday.
The Pocatello Fire Department said Public Safety put most of the fire out with fire extinguishers, and it was pretty much out by the time firefighters arrived.
The fire department is watering down the area to make sure it’s completely out and prevent potential flare up.
Officials said they don’t know what caused it, but given the time of day and location, it likely wasn’t a natural cause.
The fire department said they will continue to investigate the cause.
