American Falls Marina dock destroyed by boat fire

American Falls firefighters were called to a boat fire at the reservoir marina at around 3:06 p.m. Saturday. According to the Power County Sheriff’s Office, the boat and part of the dock were in flames when firefighters arrived. No one was hurt, but the dock was closed for approximately 5 hours. A Pocatello hazardous materials team was called in to assess any environmental threats that may have been caused by the fire. The area was determined to be safe by shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday night. The area has been reopened to the public, although there is only one serviceable dock at the Marina.
