Mike Simpson to attend local Republicans barbecue at new location

Local Republicans will hold their annual summer barbecue at a new venue on Thursday, August 10.

Region Seven Republicans from Idaho Falls to Salmon to Drigggs and all points in between have traditionally held the annual get together in Idaho Falls, but to be more centrally located this year, the annual event will be held in Rexburg at Madison High School.

The new location brings a new raffle and the first-ever basketball shooting contest for candidates running for governor in next year’s election.

All statewide candidates have been invited to attend, and all local and county officials have also been encouraged to attend.

Representative Mike Simpson will be the keynote speaker because the Senate is still in session, and so Senator Mike Crapo and Senator Jim Risch will not be able to attend.

As always, this event is open to all Republicans in the area, and everybody is encouraged to attend.

Social hour is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with dinner and program at 7 p.m.
