Madison Fire Department is collecting items for Harvey victims

The Madison Fire Department is coordinating a drive to gather needed items for those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

You can bring donations to Station 1 at 26 N. Center St. in Rexburg between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. now until September 9.

The department said the Houston Food Bank reports the most needed items are:

ready-to-eat food in pull-top cans or in pouches vegetables fruit tuna beef stew chili canned chicken peanut butter snacks granola bars breakfast bars toiletries, paper goods, diapers cleaning supplies mops mop buckets brooms bleach wipes bleach garbage bags bug spray

The department asks you call 208-359-3010 if you have a lot of donations, and they will tell you where to go for easier unloading.

Ceaderpoint Trucking will be providing the driver and truck to deliver the items to the Houston Food Bank.
