“Y” construction begins Tuesday in Jackson

Construction will begin Tuesday at the “Y” intersection in Jackson. The Wyoming Department of Transportation project is expected to create some significant traffic problems until it is completed, probably in late November. The Town of Jackson assembled some tips it hopes will alleviate traffic pressure. They include: — “Utilize alternate modes of transportation. Consider taking your bike or walking on the pathways. — Stagger your normal drive times. Traffic tends to be heavier during the morning commute, lunchtime break and evening commute. If you can avoid driving during these times, even sometimes by a half of an hour, you can help reduce traffic pressure. — Anticipate potential delays and allot ample time to arrive to your destination on time. This may require leaving 20 minutes earlier than you normally would. — Finally, please practice patience and know that we are all in this together.” In addition, START bus routes will require some alterations. Although the service plans to offer full public service, some pick-up and drop-off locations will likely be made during the course of construction.
