EIRMCnurses deploy to Texas for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Four Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center nurses deployed to Texas on Monday to contribute to the recovery efforts following the flooding wrought by Hurricane Harvey.

The deployed EIRMC team consists of two RN’s from the Emergency Room, an RN Case Manager and one traveling Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN.

The team will relieve EIRMC’s parent company HCA Healthcare’s staff who have been on the front lines of this disaster for many days.

After the team’s two-week assignment, HCA will evaluate the need for additional volunteers in the Houston area.

Officials report other EIRMC employees have volunteered to deploy if needed and are waiting at the ready.

In addition to sending staff, HCA announced last week a donation of $1 million to the American Red Cross and up to $1 million in matching funds for employee donations to the HCA Hope Fund.
