I.F. Auditorium District board gives explanation for firing executive director

The Idaho Falls Auditorium District board decided to go in a different direction with the firing of Executive Director Cindy Ozaki Wednesday.

Board members called an executive session and told Ozaki her contract was being terminated. Chairman of the board, Terri Gazdik, was not present for the executive session.

The board said they wanted someone with better project management skills for their new event center project.

“The board was interested in finding somebody that would provide stronger project management skills,” Terri Gazdik said. “They felt like the project was at a point where we had shifted away from perhaps the skill that Cindy provides and needed somebody that had those skills since we are at a different point in the project from where we have been in the past.”

The board is having an emergency session Wednesday night to discuss the next steps.
