Professional magicians to hold fundraiser for Harvey victims

Magicians from the American Magic Guild, the Society of American Magicians and the International Brotherhood of Magicians will present a fundraiser at the Pinecrest Event Center in Idaho Falls Saturday, September 30 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to benefit the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

Magicians Richard Hatch, Kipp Sherry, Jerde & Mena, David Devlin and J.J. the Magician are from Idaho and Utah most of whom have ties to the Lone Star State and have undertaken this event in solidarity with friends and relatives living in Texas.

“We could not be more pleased that the Pinecrest Event Center has agreed to donate its facilities for this event, as the performers believe the southeast Idaho community will respond in numbers sufficient to have an impact in the lives of those affected by this tragedy in Texas,” said John Jerde of the Idaho Falls-based American Magic Guild.

The cost of the tickets to the event will be $5 for children under 12 and $10 for adults with a family pass available for only $20.

Additional donations are encouraged.

“We cannot emphasize enough that every penny raised will be donated directly to the American Red Cross,” said Mena.
