ITD donates prize money

The Idaho Transportation Department received many awards for their work on the Thornton Interchange. And they’re giving one back to a good cause.

ITD is donating $10,000 to the Utah and Idaho Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. They won the money from the America’s Transportation “People’s Choice” Award. They chose this foundation because one of their employee’s daughter has suffered from the disease since birth. She is thankful for the donation that could help find a cure for her disease.

“It means a lot to me because it’s not just for me,” Lina Robinson, who is battling Cystic Fibrosis, said. “It’s for all the kids that have cystic fibrosis.”

So far there is no cure for cystic fibrosis. It afflicts roughly 70,000 people worldwide.
