Trunk or treat to be held for children with special needs and severe food allergies

Halloween is all about candy and fun, but it can be anything but fun for kids with food allergies or special needs.

To help ease that frustration, the Portneuf District Library and Regional Early Childhood Council have teamed up to hold a special trunk or treat for those kids on Saturday, October 28.

Portneuf District Library employee Amanda Bowden reports several businesses and therapy agencies will have trunks with games, candy and many different candy alternatives.

Star Wars characters, princesses and superheroes will be special guests at the event, according to Bowden.

The trunk or treat will go from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Portneuf Library, 5210 Stuart, in Chubbuck.
