Man arrested for Rexburg sexual assault
Rexburg Police have charged Franklin Rafael Camilo Mora, 28, of the Dominican Republic in connection with a sexual assault in Rexburg September 24.
Police charged Mora with felony sexual penetration by use of a foreign object.
According to police, Mora had been walking with a female BYU Idaho student through Porter Park when he allegedly attacked the woman. They said the two were acquainted, but not involved.
Mora was not a student and was living with family members at the time of the incident.
A warrant was issued for Mora’s arrest and bond was set at $100,000 on September 25 but he left the city before he was taken into custody.
Police arrested Mora as he got off a bus returning to Rexburg Tuesday.
He is currently being held in the Madison County Jail.
