Idaho Falls council seats filled

There will be three new people on the Idaho Falls City Council in January.

In the Seat 2 race, Shelly Smede defeated David Smith with 51 percent of the total vote. The unofficial final was 5,349 to 5,040.

For Seat 4, Jim Francis won 5,680 votes to Craig Lords’ 5,000, a 53 percent majority.

And, in the Seat 6 race, Jim Freeman defeated Dan Beck. Freeman had 6,682 votes or 63 percent of the total to Beck’s 3.901.
