Hearings scheduled on overweight trucks

The Idaho Transportation Department is considering 7 applications from commercial truckers who want to use state highways for trucks weighing up to 129,000 pounds.

The requests involve sections of US 20, US 26, Idaho 28, Idaho 32, and Idaho 47. Most involve requests from cement haulers and three who want to access a Simplot facility in Ashton.

I.T.D. has scheduled a public hearing to accept written or oral testimony. The hearing will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 5 at the ITD Regional Office in Rigby at 206 North Yellowstone Highway.
