Blackfoot man pleads guilty to murder of child
Jesus Adan Castillo pleaded guilty in 7th District Court in Blackfoot Wednesday to charges of First Degree Murder.
Castillo, 22, was arrested March 23 at a home in the 1600 block of Camas Street. A child under the age of 2 did not respond to treatment and was taken to Bingham Memorial Hospital.
The 18-month old infant sustained head and abdominal injuries. The boy was transferred to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and died there.
Bingham County Prosecutor Cleve Colson said Castillo will be sentenced January 22, 2018, before Judge Dane Watkins.
Castillo faces a minimum of 10 years to life in prison for the first-degree murder conviction.
