Snow removal ordinance kicks-in for city of Idaho Falls

The City of Idaho Falls has initiated parking restrictions around the city because of the recent snowfall. Cars need to be moved off city streets to allow snowplow drivers to clear the roads.

The recent accumulation of snow has exceeded two inches, which qualifies as a snow event according to the Snow and Ice Control Policies and Procedures Manual. A snow event is any snowfall of 2 inches or more.

There is no set date on when the parking restrictions will be lifted. The city will issue another release at that time.

A link to the city ordinance, maps, zones, and additional information can be found on the city’s website by clicking here or the snow proclamation page here. Community members are encouraged to review the webpage and/or call the Street Division at (208) 612-8490 for questions.
