Free holiday festival at Museum of Idaho

The Museum of Idaho is hosting the popular Olde-Fashioned Christmas and Winter Festivals for its 10th year in a row.

The exhibition is open now until December 30 and is free thanks to Chesbro Music Co. and the Idaho Falls Interfaith Council.

The Olde-Fashioned Christmas and Winter Festivals exhibition features hundreds of nativities, Santa Claus figurines, gingerbread houses, and other displays on Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and winter festivals from around the world.

This year, the collection includes additional displays relating to the theme “Angels Among Us.” There will also be live music throughout each day.

You can view the music schedule HERE.

Hours for Olde-Fashioned Christmas and Winter Festivals are 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays. Unlike during the rest of the year, the Museum will be closed on Sundays for the duration of this exhibition and will also be closed on Christmas Day.

It Takes a Village, the Museum’s exhibit showcasing influential women’s groups of Idaho Falls past and present, will also remain open through December 30.

After December 30, the Museum will close in preparation for its next traveling exhibit, Dinosaurs in Motion: Where Art & Science Meet, which opens January 26, 2018.
