Local law enforcement cracking down on DUIs

Local law enforcement typically sees an increase in driving under the influence around the holidays. Patrols around the state are cracking down.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office wants to remind you not to drink and drive. They will have more deputies on patrol.

They say if you choose to drink, be responsible, and make other arrangements to get a ride.

“If you choose to drink make sure you’re being responsible. Don’t get behind the wheel of a vehicle, even if you’re just buzzed, you need to stay away from driving. Call for a ride or family member, make those arrangements ahead of them,” says Sgt. Bryan Lovell.

There have been a few DUI related accidents already lately. And on top of not drinking and driving, Sgt. Lovell says to always wear your seatbelt.
