BLM asking for grant to install more shelters at St. Anthony Sand Dunes

The Bureau of Land Management Upper Snake Field Office is looking to install more shelters at Egin Lakes.

The BLM is requesting funding for the shelter installation at the picnic area of the Egin Lakes Campground.

The BLM says they want to improve the public’s experience at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes.

“The Picnic Area lacks shade and in the summer at the Sand Dunes it gets hot,” said Jason Byrd, recreation planner for the USFO. “These shelters would improve the comfort level of day-use visitors and protect them from harmful UV rays.”

Public input is needed on this project to successfully receive financial assistance from the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation.
