Man with BAC level three times legal limit arrested for DUI

A Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy on patrol near 1st St. and Tiebreaker initiated a traffic stop on a pickup he observed driving erratically and fishtailing on the roadway around 11:10 p.m. Saturday.

The deputy identified the driver as 32-year-old Jose J. Gonzalez of Idaho Falls and noticed several indications of alcohol use and impairment.

After field sobriety testing on scene, the deputy determined Gonzales was too impaired to be driving and placed him under arrest for suspicious of Driving Under the Influence.

Gonzalez was transported to the Bonneville County Jail where he agreed to undergo breath testing, and the test results indicated a .24 blood alcohol content (BAC), which is 3 times the legal limit.

Gonzalez was booked into the Bonneville County Jail for Felony Excessive Driving Under the Influence.

The deputy also found Gonzalez had at least two previous convictions of Felony Driving Under the Influence in 2010 and 2014.
