Transformers hauled by semi leaked oil on I-15

Idaho State Police investigated a crash northbound on Interstate 15 at mile marker 68, south of Clark Street around 7:51 a.m. Monday.

ISP reports 27-year-old Taras Andrusyshyn of Chicago, IL was driving a semi-truck and trailer hauling two transformers.

According to officials, Andrusyshyn was stopped in right lane of travel because one of the transformers had come off the trailer, and both transformers were leaking a large amount of non-hazardous oil, causing blockage in the right lane.

The Idaho Transportation Department, along with a wrecker company, responded to the scene for clean-up.

The right lane northbound on I-15 and the South 5th on ramp were blocked for approximately three and a half hours.

ISP reports the lanes have been re-opened.
