Snow and Wind Today!

A cold front is moving through E. Idaho, where ahead of this cold front we are seeing temperatures this morning in the 40’s across the Snake River Plain. However, the cold front will pass through the I-15 corridor around or a little after the morning commute, where a quick burst of snow will be received with winds gusting into the 30’s. After the cold front passes through, the threat remains for snow showers through the evening. The valleys will see 1-3 inches by this evening. The mountains 2-6 inches below 8000 ft, with higher amounts above that level.

Winds will be breezy through Thursday as well thanks to the passing cold front. A weak snow event for Friday before frigid conditions set up for Christmas weekend.

Today. Snow and windy. Afternoon highs around 30 degrees. South southwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tonight: Lows in the 20’s with a chance of snow in the early evening.

Thursday. Cold. Wind chill will be a factor with breezy north winds, especially in the morning. Partly Cloudy.

Friday: A 30% chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 20°. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
