Teton County Sheriff’s Office warns of spoofing scam

The Teton County, Idaho Sheriff’s Office is warning of a spoofing scam.

According to the department’s Facebook page, the Office’s main number was spoofed on Wednesday.

The Sheriff’s Office says the caller demands money, through gift cards, and make threats of arrest for nonpayments.

The Sheriff’s Office will never contact anyone by phone or demand payments of fines on a warrant or any other matter.

The best thing you can do is to hang up on anyone representing themselves as law enforcement and call the Sheriff’s Office.
