Many shoppers buy last minute gifts

Many people were out and about on Christmas Eve getting those last minute gifts, including Bob Neal.

“They’re stocking stuffers,” Neal said. “I waited until the very last minute.”

Neal went to Walmart to get a few extra gifts for his wife. It’s Christmas Eve, so he’s cutting it a little close. But, he’s not the only one.

“I’m just shopping for my nieces,” Jocelyn Marin, another late shopper, said. “It’s just last minute because I really haven’t had time.”

Time is not on most people’s side when it comes to holiday shopping.

“It’s time,” Neal said. “You just don’t have enough time for anything. So when you’re coaching and teaching and running here and have holiday things there, yeah, it’s time.”

Finding that perfect holiday gift can be difficult, but the amount of holiday shoppers can also turn people away until the last minute.

“The people, definitely,” Marin said. “There’s a lot of people out.”

If you still need a last minute gift and Walmart is your destination, local Walmart’s are closing at 6 pm on Christmas Eve and will be closed all day Monday for Christmas.
