Search to fill Pocatello council vacancy begins

Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad is taking steps to fill a vacancy on the City Council.

Governor Butch Otter named former Council President Steve Brown to replace Evan Frasure on the Bannock County Commission.

“Steve has been a great asset to the City,” said Blad, “and he’s worked hard to help Pocatello progress. I have no doubt he’ll continue his efforts as our newest County Commissioner and look forward to working with him in his new position.”

Blad is currently accepting applications for the vacant post until Wednesday, January 10 at 5 p.m. Those interested must be a registered Pocatello voter and at least 18-years-old.

Along with their application, applicants should also submit:
1) A resume of no more than two pages.
2) A 150-word maximum response to three questions:
a) Why are you interested?
b) What is the major issue facing Pocatello?
c) How would you address that issue?

Blad said unsolicited letters of reference will not be accepted.
