A cold start to the new year

A ridge of high pressure is delivering quiet conditions with patchy freezing overnight fog. Low’s close to zero, with daytime highs into the upper 20’s and lower 30’s. There’s a slight chance of some mountain snow on Wednesday, but a more significant shot at snow arrives for all of us late Friday.

Tonight: Areas of freezing fog after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around -5° to 5°. North wind around 5-10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with areas of freezing fog. A high near 26°-32°. North wind around 5-10 mph.

Wednesday: Partly to mostly cloudy, with a high near 30°. Northeast wind around 5 mph. A slight chance of snow for the higher elevations near the Montana and Wyoming state lines.
