Auditions for Idaho Falls male singing group January 4

Are you a male singer or know of a male singer who lives in the Idaho Falls area?

Shane Hill is forming an Idaho Falls men’s vocal quartet to prepare and perform high quality music in eastern Idaho.

The genre will be traditional, modern and A capella type harmonies to emulate groups such as Straight No Chaser, Vocal Point, Gentri, Home Free, The King’s Singers, Pentatonix and Celtic Thunder.

Hill said everyone in the group will have the opportunity to sing lead parts as well as “back up” and harmony.

“Doing awesome as a group will make each of us look great individually,” said Hill. “No ‘lead singers’ and no ‘prima donnas.'”

Hill said practices will be weekly at first and then will be adjusted as necessary based on planned performances.

Qualifications are as follows:

Vocal ability (good voice quality, ability to learn and sing harmonies and to blend well) To help find great music for the group Commitment, patience, and persistence to memorize, polish and perfect the music Ability to work/play well with others Help support the group financially (pay for music and miscellaneous needs (equipment, rental space, clothes, etc.) A passion to be part of this type of a group and a commitment to make it a priority

Criteria and order for selecting group members is as follows:

Commitment and passion Patience and persistence Ability to work/”play” well with others Ability to balance and blend voice with others Vocal quality

If you are interested, send an email with your vocal range at full voice and a brief musical resume to Hill at sjhtjh@msn.com. Hill asks you also explain your desire to be part of a group like this and how you feel about making the necessary commitment.

Auditions will be January 4 at 8:00 p.m. Email Hill before then so he can send you the audition location and some additional information.
