Rexburg woman hits roundabout, arrested for DUI

A Bonneville County Sheriff’s Deputy witnessed a 19-year-old Rexburg woman drove her car into the concrete center of the roundabout at the intersection of Hitt Road and Iona Road around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The deputy identified the driver as Abbey E. Brugger and reports she was not injured but showed signs of impairment and underwent field sobriety testing at the scene.

After testing indicated Brugger may be too impaired to be driving, she was taken into custody and transported to the Bonneville County Jail for breath testing. The results of that test showed Brugger had a .11 BAC (blood alcohol content).

The legal limit for someone under 21 driving under the influence is .02 BAC and the legal limit for individuals 21-years-old or older is .08 BAC.

Brugger was booked into jail for Misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence.
