Woman sent to EIRMC after crashing into tree

Idaho Falls Police and Idaho State Police are investigating a crash that sent one person to the hospital late Thursday afternoon.

IFPD says around 4:45 p.m. officers were called to a disturbance and tried to stop a woman involved near the intersection of E. 21st and S. Boulevard.

As officers were talking to the woman she drove away. Police did not chase the woman but drove in the same direction.

The woman drove into the Stonebrook Subdivision and hit another car, swerved and ran head-on into a tree. She was ejected from the car near the intersection of Stonebrook Lane and Stonebrook Place.

She was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with serious injuries, her condition is unknown at this time.

No other information has been released at this time.
