Another gang fight reported at SW Idaho prison complex
State officials say four prisons at the South Boise Correctional Complex have been placed on secure status following a second altercation between prison gangs that involved multiple inmates.
The Idaho Department of Correction in a news release Saturday says 28 inmates in the housing unit at the Idaho State Correctional Center took part in the latest disturbance that began at about 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Officials say one inmate was taken to a Boise hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and that no staff members were injured.
The incident follows a clash between prison gangs involving 17 inmates on Thursday at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution that’s part of the same complex.
Five inmates were taken to a local hospital for treatment in that incident, and no staff members were injured.
