Madison County seeks grant to help buy patrol boat

After 20 years of service, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office wants to replace its Search and Rescue boat. The craft has also been used for waterway patrols.

But, the sheriff’s office said the boat is beginning to have maintenance issues.

The office is applying for an Idaho Parks and Recreation Department grant to help buy a new one.

Officers said the new boat would be better suited for both low and high water patrols.

People interested in the proposal or commenting on it are encouraged to contact Sergeant Cameron Stanford at 208-372-5000.
