Two transported to hospital after crash on US 26

Idaho State Police investigated a multi-vehicle, head-on crash at Beech’s Corner on US Highway 26 east of Idaho Falls around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Officials said 76-year-old Wanda Hughes of Idaho Falls was driving northbound on SH43 in a 2015 Ford Explorer when she swerved into the southbound lane and struck 55-year-old Lesa Rapp of Idaho Falls who was driving southbound on SH33 in a 2013 Honda Accord.

Both Hughes and Rapp were wearing seatbelts police report.

An ambulance transported both parties to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

US26 was blocked for approximately one hour.

This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.

The Idaho State Police was assisted by Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
