Wind Advisory issued for Thursday night & Friday JAN 12th

As our snowy/rainy weather moves off to the east, we’re looking to see very gusty winds Thursday night through Friday.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello, has issued a Wind Advisory for the Snake River Plain.

WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM MST

FRIDAY…

* IMPACTS/TIMING…Difficult driving conditions with gusty cross-

winds are expected tonight, especially for high profile

vehicles. The strongest winds are expected between midnight and

6 AM MST.

* WINDS…Sustained winds of 30 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH.

* LOCATIONS…Idaho Falls to Pocatello and across the central

Snake Plain including INL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A wind advisory means that winds of 30 mph are expected. Gusts

over 45 mph are possible. Winds this strong can make driving

difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Slow down on

your travels.
