BYU –Idaho students share impressions of funeral

Leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and family members paid tribute today to the late church President Thomas S. Monson at his funeral.

At BYU-Idaho, teachers were allowed to cancel classes at noon so students could view the funeral

Many filed into the BYU-Idaho Center to do just that. Other community members and university staff brought their families.

Some shared what impress them about the funeral.

“I liked how pretty much everyone spoke about the legacy he left, just of love, and I think that was the main thing that I took away from it — that he loved the Lord and he loved the church and he loved all of us,” Camille McClella said.

“I really liked how the other leaders described the work and the person that President Thomas S. Monson was and how much they loved and respected him,” Camilla Moraes said.

“After viewing it I feel really good and I want to do more and be more like Thomas S. Monson and be more Christ-like, so I don’t know if that was their intent, but that’s what I got out of it and I loved it,” Troy Nielsen said.
