Bannock County Sheriff’s Office looking for wanted man

UPDATE 01/15/18: The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office has called off the search, saying he has been located. Sheriff’ deputies have not released any more information, but the public is no longer in any danger.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect on the run. Police consider him armed and dangerous.

Police believe the man could be headed to the Bingham County area. Police say he is armed and could possibly have machetes or knives either on his person or in the car.

The suspect is Jacob Cousens, who is wanted for an aggravated assault that happened in south Pocatello on Sunday.

Police say Cousens is driving a blue 2000 Chevy Impala with license plate 1B Y8399.

If you see Cousens, police say do not approach. Call local law enforcement immediately.

Though he is considered armed, police do not believe there is a threat to the public at this time.
