Rexburg Rep. will not seek re-election; endorses his granddaughter

Rexburg Representative Dell Raybould announced today he will not seek reelection. Raybould is in his 9th term or 18th year in office.

According to a media release from Raybould, the District 34 state legislator said his granddaughter, Britt Raybould, will seek the seat instead.

Raybould serves as the Environmental, Energy and Technology committee chairman. He previously served as chairman of the Resources and Conservation committee.

“As I look back, I consider myself very lucky to serve in the House during a time of great change in our state. I’m proud of my efforts to implement smart water policies that will protect this valuable resource for future generations, and I hope that the folks in District 34 know how much I appreciate the opportunity to serve them. It has been a privilege that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” Raybould said in his release.

Raybould said he will continue to live in Rexburg.
