Wilcox Elementary fifth graderreceives CAKE award

A Wilcox Elementary School fifth grader was chosen as Pocatello/Chubbuck School District #25’s January CAKE (Character, Attitude, Kindness and Encouragement) award recipient.

Kaden Hymas was nominated by his teacher Krista Campos.

“Kaden is the true definition of a learner,” said Campos. “He excels because of his outstanding attitude and compassion towards others. He accepts challenges as a way to progress and improve. Kaden is positive and encouraging to all classmates. He focuses on those who need support and a friend. He is respectful and polite to all students and adults. Each day, Kaden greets me with a smile and a ‘hello’, and he leaves each day with a ‘thank you’ and ‘goodbye.’ In all he does, Kaden shows gratitude for his opportunities to learn.”

McDonald’s will now donate $50 to the school’s media center to purchase books in Kaden’s name.

Kaden and Campos will also receive a McDonald’s gift card.

Nominations for the student CAKE Award can be submitted by teachers or administrators who observe outstanding character, attitude, kindness and encouragement toward others.

Winners will be announced monthly.
