Some Idaho Falls speed limits to change

Speed limits are changing on several Idaho Falls streets.

Following Idaho Falls City Council action, the speed limit was increased from 35 to 40 miles per hour on Holmes Avenue between 17th Street and Sunnyside Road.

On Rollandet Avenue, between 21st Street and Sunnyside, the speed limit will remain at 35 miles per hour year-round.

The speed limit on John Adams Parkway, between Holmes Avenue and 25th East, will increase from 25 to 30 miles per hour. Speed limit signs will be updated this week.

The recommendations for the changes were based on data collected and evaluated by Public Works Department engineers.

A fourth speed limit change on Boulevard will not be introduced until construction activities on that street are complete later this fall.
