Fire destroys Fort Hall home
UPDATE: 3:00 p.m.
According to Fort Hall Fire Chief Brian Briggs, the fire was reported at 4:36 a.m.
The residents of the home had evacuated before firefighters arrived.
Briggs said, “the fire started in a back bedroom and the cause is still under investigation.”
He said one person drove themselves to the hospital to be checked for smoke inhalation and was released shortly after. There were no other injuries reported.

A home is now destroyed on the Fort Hall Reservation due to an early Thursday morning fire.Randy’L Teton, the Public Affairs Manager for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, tells KIFI/KIDK the house is located on Batt Lane, and the fire started around 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
The fire chief was on the scene until about 10 a.m. putting out the last of the embers.
A neighbor told KIFI/KIDK at least two adults and a child escaped the fire, and they lost two pets.
According to officials, no one was injured.
