UPDATE 2/3/18 7:08 P.M.: The search for Jimmy Rodriguez ended tonight.
Idaho Falls Police and members of Rodriguez’ family tell Local News 8 and KIDK Eyewitness News 3 that he was found behind the Gas and Grub on Lindsay Boulevard around 3 P.M.
A member of one of the search party groups found his body during the search.
Idaho Falls Police detectives believe he had been deceased for more than 24 hours before being found.
They have not identified any signs of foul play at this time.
His family says on Facebook, “I’d like to thank all of the people who came out today to help and the staff of the Roadhouse saloon for bringing him in that night and offering him a hot meal before he disappeared.”
The family and friends of 55-year-old Jimmy Rodriguez organized a search party Saturday morning.
Rodriguez was last seen January 24th around 5 p.m.
Family tells Local News 8 and KIDK Eyewitness News 3 that Rodriguez lives near Garcia’s restaurant in Idaho Falls, but was last seen near the grain and fertilizer silos on Lindsay Boulevard north of Outback Steakhouse.
The family says he obtained a ride from an Idaho Falls Power truck before being dropped off near the silos on Lindsay Boulevard.
They believe his disappearance is suspicious because of where he was last seen.
Nearly 20 people showed up to search for Rodriguez on Saturday morning from where cadaver dogs last picked up his sent to a quarter mile north of his last known location.
Rodriguez’ family is pleading with the public and anyone with any more knowledge of his whereabouts to call 9-1-1 or call Idaho Falls Police Dispatch at (208) 529-1200.
