Rexburg third grader wins state cabbage growing contest

An Adams Elementary School third grader is Idaho’s winner for the National Bonnie Plants Cabbage Program.

Idaho’s Agriculture Department randomly selected Neil Davidson’s 27 pound cabbage from 10,331 submissions.

Neil will now receive a $1,000 saving bond towards education from Bonnie Plants.

“We’re certainly extremely proud of our Idaho State Winner: Neil Davidson,” said Stan Cope, President of Bonnie Plants. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to provide our youth with this enjoyable and enriching opportunity and engage their interest in the art and joy of gardening.”

More than 1 million third graders in the 48 contiguous states submitted cabbages this year.
