BYU-Idaho winter 2018 enrollment figures show growth on campus and online
Brigham Young University-Idaho winter semester enrollment totals for both on-campus and online students show continued growth.
Statistics released for Winter Semester 2018 show a total campus enrollment of 18,689 students, an increase of 3.5 percent over last winter’s campus enrollment of 18,065. Also, 4,506 campus-based students are taking online courses or fulfilling internships away from campus.
This semester, the campus student body consists of 9,778 male students and 8,911 female students, (52.3 percent and 47.7 percent respectively).
The total number of married students is 4,890, comprising 26.2 percent of the total campus student population.
On-campus students who have served full-time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints number 11,053 (59.1 percent of the student body).
Enrollment in BYU-Idaho’s online courses also continues to grow rapidly. The number of online students for Winter Semester 2018 is 11,513, an increase of 19.2 percent over last winter’s comparable online student enrollment of 9,659.
Officials said continued growth in enrollment can be attributed, in large part, to the teaching focus of its faculty, the opportunity to gather with other students who share common values, the university’s focus on real-world preparation and the high-value educational experience offered. BYU-Idaho is student focused by design.
