Rexburg police investigate smoke bombs

Rexburg Police are investigating two reports of smoke bombs Wednesday night. It is unknown if they were connected.

The first happened at 8:54 p.m. when a man threw a smoke bomb through the front door of Broulim’s market. The device landed in the lobby area. Police said it left a stain to the rug and a bad odor, but did not injure anyone.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage as part of their investigation.

The second incident was reported at 9:01 p.m. when someone threw a red smoke bomb into the bed of a pickup truck. The pickup driver saw four men in a Prius. The pickup driver believed one of the men in the car was responsible for throwing the smoke bomb.
Investigation of that case is also continuing.
